Energizing our community goes beyond electricity! In 2023, Tampa Electric supported more than 150 events and over 200 organizations. On top of that, our team members invested 36,050 volunteer hours for the good of our community.

Youth and Education
Quality jobs are the beginnings of broader prosperity. And we can’t successfully bring power to West Central Florida without a robust, engaged workforce. That’s why we’re intent on powering economic development in our communities and helping to train and retain local talent. Through youth mentoring, local recruiting events and workforce development initiatives like our lineworker training program at Hillsborough Community College, we help to create bright futures.
Wellness and Well-Being
Wellness is…well…everything! Besides our laser-focused, companywide safety initiatives, we also host wellness events that are open to the public. Those involve everything from lifesaving workshops on how to perform CPR or stop traumatic bleeding to tips on how to be safe around electricity.
Our commitment to wellness goes all the way up to Archie Collins, our president and CEO, who served as the 2023 chair of the American Heart Association Tampa Bay Heart Walk. Read more about this cause that is so close to our hearts.
Cultural Vitality
For us, cultural vitality means supporting our community's arts and cultural institutions. It also means celebrating the rich traditions and differences of our team members and customers. We are proud of our many outreach programs into underserved communities and our sponsorship of local arts and cultural initiatives.
Growth and Innovation
Commitment to innovation and people is a key driver of community and economic prosperity. We support initiatives that encourage young people, women and minorities to participate in civic activities. And we invest in progress and growth through job creation and innovative start-ups.
